Peter Cranston is the Director of Team Rocket Rinjoh, Legal Department. He is a balding man in his fifties with poor eyesight and a deep affinity for dressing up as pokemon. While in most avenues of life he has a meek and passive demeanor, he is in fact quite intelligent in matters of law and policy, and is one of the most skilled defense lawyers in Rinjoh.
As an up-and-coming defense lawyer, he was terrified of his passion being discovered; Team Rocket found out and used it as blackmail so that he would defend some of their members in court. It didn’t take him long to realize that it would be much more to his benefit to just work for them directly, and as he rose in the ranks of lawyers in Rinjoh, he rose through Team Rocket’s ranks as well, eventually becoming the head of Legal. His choice in “outfits” makes him somewhat famous within the Team Rocket offices, with new recruits informed to never, ever mention anything about them.
Cranston has something of an obsession with the Procurement Director, Merryworth. He finds her intelligence and attention to detail in matters of policy, combined with her stunning looks, to be absolutely irresistable, but since even he long ago realized his attraction would always be unrequited, he instead attempts to get her to discuss matters of work with him at any available opportunity. He does realize that he is annoying her, but it's still worth every second he can hear her voice speaking about parking codes and the importance of appropriate font for mission reports.

Despite his “bond” with pokemon, fighting was never something that interested Cranston; his pokemon are his friends and confidants, but aren’t particularly trained in doing anything further then that. He has a reasonably large collection of small, soft, pleasant pokemon which can often be found roaming in his Lemon City office.
